Hey Elite Exley Bankers!

We are now meeting in the Library! Everyone who comes to bank this month will receive a really cute piggy bank!

It is still not too late to become a banker! You just need to go and sign up for a savings account at Citibank at the corner of Westheimer Pkwy and Mason. Let them know that you are an Exley Banker.

Any questions, please contact Dawn Champagne atbdchampagne@sbcglobal.net

Our school has a new way to get pictures to the yearbook staff!
You can upload as many photos as you like and the yearbook staff can download them for use in the book.
In order to post your photos to our site you must follow these steps:
1. Go to www.replayit.com
2. Click on "Get Started". You will need to find our school first and we are listed as Exley Elementary in Katy Texas.
3. Once you have clicked on our school, you will need to enter our school password: Jo Ella
4. Enter and confirm your email address and click the box certifying that you are at least 13 years old.
5. The site will send you an email confirming your account. Reply to that and you are now ready to post photos to the site.
Please keep in mind- we prefer photos with lots of children in them, versus just one child. Also, please remember to submit action shots. While we will use a few posed shots, we prefer to show the children learning, working or playing, rather than just smiling at the camera.
The yearbook staff thanks you for your help and we can't wait to see your photos!
If you have any questions please contact Donna Magana at donnamagana@yahoo.com or (713) 410-2438.

PTA Welcome Back Coffee

Please join us on Friday, January 20th, at 8:15 am in the LGI for our annual Welcome Back Coffee!  We would love to bring you up to speed on all of the exciting things happening here at Exley.

Exley PTA Carnival Date-

March 30th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm!  Mark your calendars!

Health Awareness Week Jan 17-20

The students and teachers at Exley would like to celebrate Health Awareness by  having a special week of fun dedicated to learning about how to live a healthy lifestyle.  Students are invited to wear green on Wednesday, yellow or orange on Thursday and red on Friday.  Each of those days we will strive to eat healthy fruits and vegetables in those colors.  On Friday, we will have a taste testing to introduce new fruits and vegetables to all of our students during PE.

Benchmark Testing

Don't forget that we are benchmark testing next week with all 3rd-5th graders taking a math benchmark on Tuesday and all 5th graders taking a science benchmark on Thursday.  The campus will be closed to visitors on Tuesday, January 24th.

Pennies for Patients

Exley Student Council members are excited to announce they are sponsoring the Pennies for Patients program to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which funds blood cancer research. Our students have the wonderful opportunity to impact the lives of children with cancer by contributing to cancer research.

Each Exley student was given a box to collect change.  Coins will be collected from January 11th until January 27th.  Students may reuse their boxes after their change has been collected.  Exley’s goal is to raise as much money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as possible!

Thank you in advance for helping your student make an important contribution to an organization that positively changes the lives of many!

*LLS also graciously accepts checks and can be made payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.”  Students with check donations can deliver them to Mrs. Trower in Room 507.
